Over New Years my parents came out to visit us and we took a trip to Kirtland. It was really cool. First we went to the Kirtland Temple and took the tour, and then we went down to Historic Kirtland, which the Church owns, and a senior missionary couple took us into the Whitney Home and their store. It was a great experience. Although I went to seminary, I have to admit I did a lot of snoozing too! So there were a lot of events that I didn't know that occured there. One part that stood out was being on the main floor in the Whitney Store where Emma Smith had her kitchen. She was probably busy caring for her children while Joseph was upstairs teaching at the School of the Prophets. Going to see the church history site was well worth the short drive out there. Any friends who want to go out to Kirtland-- please come and see us:-)

Looks like fun...but very cold! Rose said she about died there because it was so cold...I think we will wait until it warms up to visit you!
Lauren you are so lucky to have all these neat experiences. You and Matt are meant to be. I think God really is watching over you and your family. If Shawn and I ever get time off at the same time we plan on going and seeing so church history sites. Wouldn't that be fun!!!
